After years of planning
, the third and final property at the Baha Mar resort in the Bahamas has opened its doors. The Rosewood Baha Mar
adds 237 guest rooms, suites, and beachfront villas, as well as new dining and spa options and 12 meeting and event spaces to the destination's expansive offerings.
It joins the 1,800-room Grand Hyatt Baha Mar
and 300-room SLS Baha Mar
, both opened last year, and brings its own modern and local aesthetic of blues and lavenders, with woven rattans and painted grasscloths in the rooms as well as original Bahamian art. The suites are some of the largest on the island, promising guests a luxurious residential experiential (complete with personal butlers and private balconies). For those looking for even more space and serenity, the property's four luxury villas range from three to six bedrooms and boast their own plunge pools.
Rosewood's 12 meeting and event spaces include a 4,950-square-foot Grand Salon
with a terrace and courtyard ideal for receptions, as well as boardrooms, a private dining room, and outdoor event areas such as the Rosewood Beach. The 800-square-foot Rum Room, part of the farm-to-table restaurant Commonwealth, offers an exclusive space for group dinners. The property also includes Costa, boasting a menu of fresh seafood prepared with a Mexican twist (with meals eaten in communal cabanas meant to encourage conversation) as well as The Library, meant to attract visitors for afternoon tea and evening cocktails alike.
"We are thrilled to open Rosewood Baha Mar and unveil a one-of-a-kind destination that celebrates the island's unique traditions and effortless elegance," said Luigi Romaniello, managing director of Rosewood Baha Mar, in a statement. "We hope that when our guests arrive, they will feel as though they have arrived at their private vacation home, where they can share special moments with loved ones and create memories that will last a lifetime."
Also part of the property is Sense, A Rosewood Spa
, a brand-new fitness center, two private swimming pools, and luxury cabanas. Guests have direct and private beach access as well as access to Baha Mar's wealth of other pools, dining options, 18-hole Jack Nicklaus Royal Blue Golf Course, and the largest casino in the Caribbean. Larger groups can also take advantage of the resort's 200,000-square-foot Baha Mar Convention, Arts & Entertainment Center
with flexible indoor and outdoor event and meeting space.
