Parrotheads rejoice: A new Margaritaville resort -- Margaritaville Beach Resort Grand Cayman, inspired by the lyrics and lifestyle of singer, songwriter, and author Jimmy Buffet -- will begin hosting guests on Feb. 4 on Seven Mile Beach in Grand Cayman, the property's owner, developer, and operator, HHG Holdings, announced yesterday.
The property, which has undergone a yearlong, multimillion-dollar renovation, will have 285 guest rooms; three swimming pools, including an activity pool with a waterslide, a kid-friendly main pool, and an adults-only pool; a swim-up bar; live entertainment; a fitness center; retail shops; a complimentary kids' club; an unspecified amount of meeting and event space; and six food-and-beverage outlets, including the resort's 5 o'Clock Somewhere Bar & Grill, a License to Chill lobby bar (pictured), a Margaritaville Coffee Shop, the three-meal-a-day Banana Wind Café, Spread charcuterie and wine bar, and a signature steakhouse called YARA.
Initially, only 109 guest rooms, 5 O'Clock Somewhere, License to Chill, Margaritaville Coffee Shop, YARA, and the resort's main pool will be open, with the rest of the resort to open a later date.
"We have worked tirelessly over the past 18 months to create an incredible, one-of-a-kind island getaway and we are thrilled to celebrate this milestone: opening reservations," said Michael Evans, executive vice president of HHG Holdings. "We look forward to welcoming guests for what we know will be an unforgettable Caribbean escape featuring warm, authentic Caymanian hospitality and, of course, the Margaritaville lifestyle!"
