Delta Hotels and Resorts -- now known as Delta Hotels by Marriott -- has opened its first hotel in Asia Pacific, according to Marriott International, which this week announced the opening of Delta Hotels by Marriott Shanghai Baoshan in China.
Located near downtown Shanghai, in the city's waterfront Baoshan district, Delta Hotels by Marriott Shanghai Baoshan has 339 guest rooms and suites, three restaurants, a bar, and approximately 12,000 square feet of meeting space, including a 7,000-square-foot pillarless grand ballroom.

"We are very excited to introduce the first Delta Hotels by Marriott to the Asia Pacific region," said Mike Fulkerson, Marriott's vice president of brand and marketing for the Asia Pacific region. "Delta Hotels is a premium brand with a clear brand ethos of 'Simple Made Perfect.' The Delta Hotels by Marriott Shanghai Boshan delivers on this promise by providing a full complement of streamlined services in a simple, straightforward way. The hotel delivers key essentials in a manner that makes travel seamless and always enjoyable for our guests."

Marriott acquired Canada-born Delta in 2015 and has since grown the brand's portfolio to more than 40 locations across the United States and Canada. By the end of 2018, that portfolio will increase to 66 locations thanks to a swath of new openings, of which Delta Hotels by Marriott Shanghai Baoshan is only the first.
