Asbury Park's newest hotel, The Asbury, has become known for its outdoor pool, a rooftop movie theater overlooking the Atlantic, and its lobby fitted with bright blue bleachers. This winter, it has a new amenity to offer groups: an outdoor ice rink with seasonal food and beverages. The rink, which measures 24 feet by 50 feet, will remain open until March, depending on the weather.
"Hotels are usually structured and planned. With the Asbury, we created a place that sparks joy and spontaneity," said Anda Andrei, creative director of real estate investment company iStar. "You can't have a boring moment here. It's the same spirit of fun that makes Asbury Park such a treasure."

With 110 beach-bungalow-inspired rooms, groups can check into bunk rooms that accommodate up to eight people or more traditional rooms and suites. Whitewashed walls, pale-wood furniture, and checkerboard floors contrast with pale blue sofas, navy macramé-backed chairs, and custom molded green seats.

"The Asbury's about everything that makes Asbury Park special, from the incredible mix of people to its great music, art, and food scene," said David Bowd, the creator of the boutique Salt Hotels brand, of which The Asbury is part.

A massive feature wall in the lobby next to the bar serves as a shrine to the history and music of Asbury Park, with vinyl LPs, cassette tapes, and CDs lined up. A nearby passage leads to an outdoor beer garden, where a specially outfitted 1960s truck dispenses five kinds of ale. On the fifth floor is The Baronet, a 4,300-square-foot area of green space with wraparound views beyond a white picket fence. Two floors up is Salvation, the hotel's 4,000 square-foot monochromatic cocktail lounge.

The Counter, which features grab-and-go, is The Asbury's only food and beverage option; there is no dedicated restaurant or room service, as the hotel encourages guests to patronize nearby restaurants and bars.

With exposed theatrical lighting, advanced AV equipment, and triple-height ceilings, the event rooms are designed to feel like a giant stage. Asbury Hall & Lawn is a 5,500 square-foot, flexible indoor/outdoor event space that is divisible into three smaller spaces. The separate, pre-function area is also a greenhouse space, with billowing drapes lit from below.
