Construction is underway on the $80 million Mohegan Sun Expo Center in Uncasville, CT. Slated to open in the summer of 2018, the new building is located in close proximity to Mohegan Sun's newest hotel, the 400-room Earth Tower, and will bring the resort's flexible meeting space to over 275,000 square feet.
"This new conference center will help solidify Mohegan Sun as not just the premier conventions destination, but the premier resort in the Northeast region," says Mohegan tribal chairman Kevin Brown. "It will enable us to host some of the largest trade shows in the nation and take back some of the lost conventions that seek bigger venues in Boston and New York."

The Mohegan Sun Expo Center will include 131,000 square feet of meeting space, with a 21,412-square-foot ballroom, divisible into two and featuring over 3,000 square feet of pre-function space; eight meeting rooms ranging from 360 square feet to 675 square feet; a 1,263 square-foot boardroom with 230 square feet of pre-function space and its own outdoor terrace; 3,600 square feet of outdoor space, including a large wrap-around terrace; and a 5,361-square-foot kitchen. The Mohegan Sun Expo Center will be column-free.

Interior finishes will recall the Mohegan tribe's cultural history, with custom carpeting and light fixtures reflecting Native American motifs.

Once completed, Mohegan Sun will offer the largest meetings and convention space between Boston, MA, and New York City.

Mohegan Sun is home to three casinos, 1,600 hotel rooms, two spas, a golf course, and over 80 shops, restaurants and bars, as well as three entertainment venues, including a 10,000-seat arena.
