Atlantic City, the seaside gaming and resort capital of the East Coast, is a hot spot for meetings and incentives. Its shopping, restaurants, first-rate entertainment, and expansive meeting and event spaces make the New Jersey resort a great fit for groups of all sizes.
DAY 1: UP, UP, AND AWAY
One of Atlantic City's newest attractions is The Wheel at Steel Pier
-- at 227 feet, the third-tallest observation wheel in the United States. It has 40 climate-controlled gondolas from which guests can enjoy sweeping views of the ocean and twinkling Atlantic City skyline. At night, the $14 million wheel is illuminated by 14,000 LED lights.2:00 PM
Atlantic City's historic Boardwalk Hall houses the Midmer-Losh Pipe Organ
-- not only the largest pipe organ in the world but also the most powerful instrument. Said to sound stronger than a dozen orchestras, a concert featuring this musical treasure is a must.6:00 PM
Touted as the city's first post-Prohibition distillery, Little Water Distillery,
owned and operated by brothers Mark and Eric Ganter, produces small batches of rum, whiskey, vodka, and other artisan spirits. Tours, tastings, and cocktails are on tap here.
DAY 2: LET IT FLOW
Board a boat at historic Gardner's Basin, a protected channel along the back bays, and head into the Atlantic to watch pods of dolphins in their natural habitat. After the cruise, give your group time to explore Gardner's Basin, once a popular spot for bootleggers and commercial fishing fleets.1:00 PM
Lunch will be waiting at Back Bay Ale House,
also set on the inlet. Salads, soups, fresh seafood, mason-jar drinks, and burgers are served here along with great views.
Attendees can break out the neon, legwarmers, and mullets as Boogie Nights
is the ultimate Seventies and Eighties dance club, located in the Tropicana Atlantic City. Don't be surprised if Michael Jackson or Madonna makes an appearance. Tropicana features more than 120,000 square feet of meeting space and (after buying the Chelsea Hotel across the street this summer) 2,369 rooms, making it one of New Jersey's largest hotels.DAY 3: Making History
Attendees should expect the unexpected at Ripley's Believe It Or Not,
which features bizarre exhibits and artifacts from around the world. A roulette table made of more than 14,000 jellybeans, the world's largest matchstick bridge, and a statue of the Incredible Hulk made with car parts are among the sights here.2:00 PMCaesars Qua Baths & Spa
is a 50,000-square-foot spa at Caesars, with treatments including the Cleopatra Body Ritual that includes a kiwi scrub, heated green tea wrap, foot pressure point massage, a full-body rub down, and Chakra balancing. Cascading waterfalls, baths reminiscent of ancient Rome, and a 55-degree Arctic Ice Room, complete with snow, are part of the experience.8:00 PMVÜE,
The Rooftop Bar & Lounge at The Claridge, offers spectacular ocean views, a cosmopolitan menu, and a contemporary design.
