ATLANTIC CITY
The "Queen of Resorts," has been a tourist destination since it unveiled its first boardwalk in 1870, and today, Atlantic City's glass-clad towers, glittering casinos, and sparkling lights remain impressive.

DAY 1: HIT THE BEACH

9:00 AM

This city boasts seven miles of beaches with soft, powdery sand, not to mention Atlantic City's historic Boardwalk. Novelty shops, eateries, piers, beach bars, and casino resorts are among the waterfront attractions.

5:00 PM
Celebrity chefs including Bobby Flay, Wolfgang Puck, and Geoffrey Zakarian have branded restaurants here, which were recently joined by GordonRamsay Pub & Grill -- offering classic British favorites such as bangers and mash, fish and chips, and roasted chicken, as well as some of Ramsay's favorites, like London broil.

9:00 PM
Steel Pier, one of the Boardwalk's most storied landmarks, is replete with amusement rides, games, food, a pub, and an arcade area. For a true Atlantic City experience, arrange for your group to arrive via famous rolling chairs. www.steelpier.com

DAY 2: THE ROARING TWENTIES

10:00 AM
The 1920s come to life in Atlantic City through tours that feature sites from the HBO series Boardwalk Empire. Groups get a glimpse into how this city operated under Prohibition and the lives of characters like Enoch "Nucky" Johnson, a politician, businessman, and gangster. The Roaring Twenties Trolley Tour highlights one of Atlantic City's most provocative eras.

1:00 PM
Take a tour (and a lunch break) at the Irish Pub, once a speakeasy in the days of Prohibition, which still has the trap door used to sneak in the booze.

6:00 PM
Have dinner at Knife & Fork Inn, a legendary Atlantic City restaurant, restored to its Prohibition-era glamour. The second floor was once graced with curtained dining alcoves and a separate "ladies lounge" where women waited to be summoned.

DAY 3: OUT AND ABOUT

10:00 AM

Take your group to see a piece of nautical history at the historic Absecon Lighthouse, which opened in 1857 to help mariners navigate the tricky shoreline. They can climb the lighthouse's 228 steps to breathtaking panoramic views of Atlantic City.

3:00 PM
Shop till you drop at Tanger Outlets The Walk, featuring 109 brand-name retailers at downsized, tax-free prices, as well as the 86,000-square-foot Bass Pro Shop, boasting a 13,000-gallon aquarium filled with local indigenous sea life. www.tangeroutlets.com

11:00 PM
