Albuquerque enjoys mostly sunny weather with very low humidity and little precipitation. Summer highs can reach above 90 F/32 C, but nights cool off to the low- to mid-60s F/15-17 C. In late July, August and early September, brief but occasionally heavy thunderstorms keep temperatures under control.
Winter gets some snow, but it doesn't usually last. That may have begun to change in recent years, with severe snows closing roads and shutting down the city. High temperatures in winter may get into the low 50s F/10-12 C, with lows in the 20s F/-6 to -8 C, though cold snaps with considerably lower temperatures are not unheard of.
The best times to visit are in June and September-late October, when days are reliably sunny. Be prepared for anything in late spring and fall: Temperatures run 42-89 F/5-31 C.
