Jets owner Robert Wood (“Woody”) Johnson IV has helped the New Jersey-New York area score its biggest touchdown as he was a leading force in landing the 2014 Super Bowl at the new $1.6 billion Meadowlands stadium. This will be the first open-air, cold-weather site for the sport’s biggest game.

Johnson would like to see more than just football games held at the 82,500-seat stadium that he declares is New Jersey’s masterpiece. He’s hoping to score with meeting groups as well. During my interview with him, he proudly stated, “The Jets are open for business. If you have a meeting here, we can add value by giving you a world class venue.”

He has learned a thing or two from his team. When a customer service rep explained to him how tough it was during a recent soccer game to look at a map and give directions, he came up with the idea of creating a wristband with a map on it, similar to quarterback Mark Sanchez’s that has plays on it. “This would work as there are 900 points of service in the stadium they can be questioned about and they need to be hands free,” Johnson, on a constant mission to improve, explains.
