Following a renovation, Starwood will take over the three-year-old, 262-room Resort at Marina Village in Cape Coral, rebranding it the Westin Resort at Tarpon Point Marina. Along with the addition of signature Westin Heavenly Beds, Baths and other services and amenities, the resort’s 16,000 square feet of meeting and function space and its 4,000 square foot spa will be renovated. Other amenities include a lagoon-style pool, clay tennis courts, amphitheater, and full-service marina.
The Naples Beach Hotel & Golf Club recently completed a $5 million renovation of its Gulf-side meeting rooms and pre-function space, adding a 5,000-square-foot ballroom with a glass wall and two other new Gulf-side meeting rooms measuring 1,097 square feet and 1,159 square feet. The 317-room resort, which has a total of 34,000 square feet of meeting space, just finished a five-year, $40 million room and public space renovation. It has a championship golf course, spa, and tennis center.
The new owners of the Sundial Beach & Golf Resort on Sanibel Island are working on a major renovation of the property, which has 2,000 feet of beach on the Gulf of Mexico. The resort has 407 studio-to-three bedroom condos, five pools and golf course access.
On the heels of a $225 million top-to-bottom renovation finished in late 2011, the Marco Island Marriott Resort in March expanded its spa pool deck. The resort has 727 rooms, 25,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting space including 33 meeting rooms and two main pools.
