Two More Marriott Place Hotels Open in Indianapolis
March 1, 2010
Just a few weeks after a new Fairfield Inn & Suites opened there, two more hotels—the SpringHill Suites by Marriott Indianapolis Downtown and the Courtyard by Marriott Indianapolis Downtown—have opened as part of the new Marriott Place development in downtown Indianapolis, Marriott Place announced last month.
The new SpringHill Suites and Courtyard—which have 156 and 297 guest rooms, respectively—opened on Feb. 18 on the heels of the 168-room Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Indianapolis Downtown, which opened on Feb. 3.
Along with the Indianapolis Marriott Downtown—a pre-existing property that opened in 2001—and the JW Marriott Indianapolis—which is scheduled to open next year—the new hotels will make up the $450 million Indianapolis Marriott Place, which will have a total of 2,248 guest rooms and 145,000 square feet of meeting space, including a 40,500-square-foot ballroom—one of Marriott's largest.
"Just as Indianapolis is continuing to grow, Marriott Place is growing with the addition of these two new properties," General Manager Michael Kauffeld said in a statement. "With these two new hotels now open, travelers to Indianapolis have more options than ever before, steps from great attractions like White River State Park, the NCAA Hall of Champions, the Indiana State Museum and the convention center."
