A new Parkroyal hotel, Parkroyal on Pickering, has opened in Singapore's central business district, Asia-Pacific hotelier Parkroyal Hotels & Resorts announced last week.

Notable for its "hotel-in-a-garden" design concept — it includes over 160,000 square feet of sky gardens, waterfalls, planter terraces and green walls, constituting more than twice the hotel's total land area — the hotel features 367 guest rooms and meeting space for groups of up to 800, including a pillar-less ballroom as well as private meeting spaces in the Orchid Club Lounge on the hotel's top floor.

Amenities include an onsite restaurant, club-level rooms and a wellness space that incorporates a fitness center, infinity pool, Jacuzzi, outdoor terrace and 900-foot "garden walk."

Sustainability — a major theme of the hotel — is present in the solar-powered sky gardens and numerous other energy-saving features, such as rainwater harvesting and automatic light, rain and motion sensors.

Said General Manager David Sullivan, "Our team of knowledgeable and passionate associates are excited to build upon the green architectural foundations of Parkroyal on Pickering to promote sustainable hotel operations and management practices in Singapore. At the same time, we aim to provide the distinctive Parkroyal style of hospitality that delivers upon our brand promise of being 'Your Trusted Local Companion' to everyone who walks through our doors."
