In support of professional development for Chinese meeting professionals, Meeting Professionals International (MPI) has entered into a partnership with the Beijing Tourism Administration (BTA) with the intent of developing meetings, incentives, conferences and events (MICE) education for MPI members in Asia, it announced today.

According to MPI, the partnership further extends its presence in Asia, where MPI recently completed CMP training sessions in Seoul and Hong Kong, and where it currently has chapters in South Korea and Japan.

"The continued economic strength of the Asian economies combined with government-industry partnerships committed to the development of professionalism in the MICE industry will contribute to the prosperity in the region," said MPI President and CEO Bruce MacMillan. "Supporting the growth and development of the Chinese MICE industry is a cornerstone of our global development plan and we are committed to aligning our efforts with the powerful vision of our BTA partners and others to continue a thriving Asian MICE industry."
