Providence Hotel Joins Omni Convention Collection

Omni Hotels & Resorts has acquired The Westin Providence Hotel in Providence, R.I., it announced yesterday. The hotel, which has been rebranded as the Omni Providence Hotel, will be part of the company's "Convention Collection," a portfolio of convention center hotels that also will include the Omni Nashville Hotel when it opens later this year, and currently includes the Omni Dallas Hotel, the Omni Fort Worth Hotel, the Omni San Diego Hotel, the Omni Hotel at CNN Center in Atlanta and the Omni Shoreham Hotel in Washington, D.C.For a recap of last week's top stories, check out MeetingNews Minute:

Located in downtown Providence, where it's connected to the Rhode Island Convention Center and the Providence Place Mall, the Omni Providence Hotel offers 564 guest rooms and 18 meeting rooms totaling 22,877 square feet of meeting space. Along with the lobby, both the guest and meeting rooms will be the focus of renovations at the property later this year.
