A project to build Florida's first LEED-certified, green and allergy-friendly conference center has officially begun with a ground-breaking ceremony by developer Thayer Lodging Group in Palm Beach Gardens. The facility, which has been approved by the International Association of Conference Centers, includes 15,500 square feet of tech-savvy, purpose designed meeting space, eight meeting rooms, teleconference rooms, pre-function areas, and an outdoor plaza.

Developers planted 15 saplings in addition to tossing the ceremonial first shovel of dirt at the development of the Palm Beach Gardens Arbor, and Palm Beach Gardens mayor Eric Jablin said "this wonderful hotel has always been a hub of activity for Palm Beach Gardens and now, with the new IACC-approved conference center, it will be at the core of increasing corporate commerce in our city. It will also reflect the entire community's commitment to environmental consciousness and sustainability with the development of this new conference center and the Palm Beach Gardens Arbor."

Construction on the property will include sustainable and recycled materials, and reclaimed material such as heart cypress wood salvaged from the local Florida swamps. PURE Allergy-friendly rooms will feature in-room filtration systems. For a surcharge, attendees can book a 99.9 percent allergen-free room which features hypo-allergenic bedding, high ozone shock treatment and PURE treated heater and air conditioner units.
