Having completed a six-month, $48-million renovation, the Frenchman's Reef Marriott Resort in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, has officially re-opened its doors, it announced this week.

The Reef's renovation included an exterior makeover of the resort's main tower, the addition of a new spa and spa pool, an expansion of the resort's fitness center, the addition of a new full-service salon, a revamp of all the resort's restaurants, an expansion of the resort's lounge areas, a redesigned infinity pool with kids zone and the addition of an adults-only pool.

The Reef — which has over 60,000 square feet of meeting space — also concluded a complete redesign of all 302 guest rooms, each of which was updated with rain-style shower heads, ergonomic workspaces, , high-definition LCD TVs and new bedding.

"We are ecstatic about the results of the renovation and I know our guests will be as well," said General Manager Jose Gonzalez. "The Reef has always been a popular St. Thomas resort and with this investment I believe we have set a whole new standard of what guests can expect."
