State of the Industry Report: Salaries & Non-Salary CompPlanner pay and job security are risingBy Julie Barker
Here’s good news: On average, meeting planners’ salaries have cracked the $60,000 mark, according to a MeetingNews survey of 320 planners — 176 corporate and 144 association. And industry recruiters say companies looking to hire planners are more likely to offer full-time positions than short-term or project-based contracts, an improvement over the practices of the past several years.
But the survey did not reveal strictly good news. Although the mean figure for annual salary came in at about $62,500, women earn a staggering 19.8 percent less than men in the survey, $58,425 versus $72,847.
