Anovice to the planning of an international meeting might assume that the process would require much more thought--and
overall, be significantly more complex--than organizing a domestic program.
Yet, according to a recent survey of 465 meeting planners by MeetingNews, those assumptions are wrong. An astounding, overwhelming majority of survey respondents (82%) said they select international destinations for meetings "randomly." Further, more than half of planners surveyed (60%) said that they organize international meetings only six to 17 months out.
