Sabre, Passkey Partner to Streamline Group Reservations

A new collaboration between Sabre Hospitality Solutions and Passkey will allow hotels to automatically integrate group reservations into their central reservation system, the companies announced today.For a recap of last week's top stories, check out MeetingNews Minute:

Sabre, which powers hotels' online reservation systems, will now deliver group reservations made through Passkey's popular GroupMAX platform directly to hotels' property management systems, streamlining group reservations to the mutual benefit of hotels, meeting planners and attendees.
"This new connectivity is great for our customers and for Sabre Hospitality Solutions," says Kristie Goshow, vice president of marketing for Sabre Hospitality Solutions. "The ability to upload GroupMAX reservations automatically into a hotel's Property Management System (PMS) reduces their work load significantly. It also provides real-time reporting and tracking of room blocks and inventory, giving our customers the ability to maximize revenue."
Because data sharing is automatic — Passkey sends guest information and credit card details straight to hotels' Sabre-powered system — Sabre's GroupMAX integration eliminates the need for hotel personnel to re-key or import rooming lists. Likewise, GroupMAX is automatically updated with a confirmation number from the hotel, ensuring that the reservation is fully confirmed.
According to the companies, this automated process allows meeting planners to leave room blocks open longer to maximize attendance, and hotels to yield rates after cutoff in order to allow for last-minute bookings closer to the meeting date.
