MPI Announces 2010-2011 Board

Meeting Professionals International (MPI) has selected the slate of candidates for its 2010-2011 International Board of Directors, it announced last week. Pending approval by MPI members, board nominees will take office effective July 1, 2010.

"As our industry recovers, essential skills and competencies are required for our volunteer leadership serving on the international board of directors," MPI Governance and Nominating Committee Chair Larry Luteran said in a statement. "We've assembled a strong slate of gifted community, knowledge and business leaders with diversity of thought."

The slate of officers for MPI's Executive Committee includes:

• Chairman Elect: Sebastian Tondeur, CEO, MCI Group Holding SA
• Vice Chairman of Finance: Carl Winston, Director, Hospitality and Tourism Management Program, San Diego State University
• Vice Chairwoman: Cindy D'Aoust, Vice President Strategic Meetings Management, Maxvantage
• Vice Chairman: Kevin Kirby, Senior Director of Sales, Hard Rock International

Nominees for MPI's Board of Directors, serving three-year terms, include:

• Michael Dominguez, Vice President, Global Sales, Loews Hotels & Resorts
• Ricardo Ferreira, Senior Vice President, GRUPO ALATUR
• Carol Muldoon, CMM, Executive Director-Events & Meetings, KPMG LLP
• Erin Tench, CMP, CMM, President, Hyland Events

Nominees for MPI's Board of Directors, serving one-year terms, include:

• Jordan Clark, CMP, Vice President of Sales, Harrah's Entertainment
• Ruud Janssen, Owner, ©TNOC | The New Objective Collective
