ASAE & The Center Announces Annual Meeting Host Cities
March 8, 2010
Atlanta, Nashville, Detroit, Salt Lake City and Toronto will host its annual meeting in 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017, respectively, the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) & The Center for Association Leadership announced last week.
While it has previously met in Atlanta, Nashville and Toronto, Detroit and Salt Lake City are new destinations for ASAE & The Center, whose Annual Meeting & Exposition is known as the "Super Bowl of Conventions" because it hosts thousands of association executives every year—approximately 20 percent of whom book their own conventions in the host city within five years, according to ASAE & The Center President and CEO John H. Graham IV, CAE.
"Even though ASAE & The Center's annual meeting is the premier education and networking event, our members and industry partners attend this event not only to network and learn, but also to see and experience locations for their future meetings," he said in a statement. "So the event is also a major economic boost for the host city. We're looking forward to going back to Atlanta, Nashville and Toronto, and excited about going to Detroit and Salt Lake City for the first time. Each city has its own attributes and will surely be a huge success with our members."
ASAE & The Center last held its annual meeting in Atlanta in 1992, in Nashville in 2005 and Toronto in 2009. The association will meet in Los Angeles this year, St. Louis next year and Dallas in 2012.
