The Americas Meetings & Events Exhibition (AIBTM) kicked off in Baltimore with 1,500 pre-registered buyers for its first day that included 12 educational sessions, many of which were standing room only. On average, over 150 delegates packed each of the session rooms to listen to a wide range of industry topics from the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) on “Penetrating the US Outbound Meetings Market,” to Meeting Professionals International (MPI) on “Global Training on the Road” and “Strategic Meetings Management Supplier Engagement.”
The Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA) 2011 Education Conference that is co-locating with AIBTM at the Baltimore Convention Center has attracted more than 600 total registrants which is 64 percent more than the conference drew in Montreal last year.
Education continues at AIBTM when the expo opens June 22 with four morning seminars and three on Thursday.
