MPI Launches Online Service for Non-Member Planners
January 25, 2011
Meeting Professionals International (MPI) has introduced three new tools designed to connect the global meetings industry to its educational content, including a new service for non-member meeting planners, it announced yesterday.
The new non-member service, called MPIWeb Connect, allows meeting planners who are not MPI members to access complimentary educational content and career planning tools, including select articles, whitepapers and research reports — as well as previously members-only networking groups — that are not available to the general public. The only requirement: Planners must create a professional profile at
MPIWeb.org.
"We are making it easy for meeting professionals everywhere to connect to the information and education necessary to make them successful in a recovering and changed industry," said MPI President and CEO Bruce MacMillan. "Business performance expectations on meetings and events are now extraordinary and we want to give meeting professionals everywhere a free opportunity to connect to key content to keep the recovery thriving and to connect with each other."
Along with MPIWeb Connect, MPI has introduced a free iPhone app for MPIWeb Connect participants — BlackBerry and Android apps are scheduled for release in February — and a mobile version of its website, available at
m.mpiweb.org, that provides MPI information and event details in a mobile-friendly format.
