JetBlue Airways announced it will begin flying to Los Angeles International Airport beginning in May. Special introductory fares of $159 to Boston and $129 to New York have been offered to celebrate the new service.

The airline will offer a LAX-JFK route three times a day, and daily service from Los Angeles to Boston beginning May 21. Additional service is also planned for Long Beach, the carrier's anchor for L.A.-area service. Flights from Long Beach to Austin, San Jose and Seattle/Tacoma will also be added in May.

In other California service commitments, JetBlue announced daily service to Las Vegas from the San Fernando Valley airport and twice-daily flights from San Fernando to Washington DC, beginning May 21. The carrier will also expand service to a second daily nonstop from San Diego to Salt Lake City and a new daily flight to Seattle/Tacoma from San Diego.
