Last week at its Expo! Expo! Annual Meeting & Exhibition, the International Association of Exhibitions and Events (IAEE) recognized 187 graduates of its CEM Learning Program, all of who received their Certified in Exhibition Management (CEM) designation.
"I congratulate this year's graduates of the CEM Learning Program and am pleased to present them with their certificates," said 2012 CEM Commission Chair Randy Bauler. "Their hard work and dedication exemplifies the continued upward movement of the exhibitions and events industry."
Established in 1975, the CEM designation is awarded to exhibition and event professionals who complete a nine-part education program focusing on various aspects of exhibition management, ranging from event marketing and event operations to floor plan development and financing.
To date, more than 1,800 CEMs have earned and maintained their designation, according to IAEE — including this year's class, which includes 77 graduates from the United States, 46 from China, 32 from Mexico, seven from Canada, seven from Korea and one from Portugal.
