By Matt Alderton
November 14, 2012
For the first time, this year's European Incentive, Business Travel and Meetings (EIBTM) exhibition will be a hybrid event, according to organizer Reed Travel Exhibitions (RTE), which yesterday announced the launch of a virtual component to accompany the bricks-and-mortar trade show.
Scheduled for Nov. 28 — the second day of EIBTM, which is taking place Nov. 27-29 in Barcelona — the virtual event will include five education sessions streaming live from EIBTM, allowing remote delegates to join more than 150 physical attendees for a "dedicated interactive experience."
In addition to the education sessions, on topics such as leadership, digital event production and meetings-industry research, the event will include a virtual exhibition hall, resource center and networking lounge. Furthermore, the virtual event center will be available for 12 months following the exhibition so participants can access education content on demand.
